A Zenith Zone cleaner preparing a bright empty home during a move

Move-out cleaning is most efficient after furniture, personal belongings and disposal items have left the home. Empty storage and appliance interiors become accessible, and the cleaning team can work through the property without moving around packed boxes or active movers.

This checklist explains Zenith’s normal moving-clean scope. The final work still depends on condition, access, approved person-hours and the priorities confirmed during the pre-clean walkthrough.

01

Kitchen checklist

  • Inside and outside of empty cabinets and drawers, including shelves and tracks.
  • Handles, knobs, countertops, surfaces and backsplashes.
  • Sink, faucet and drain area.
  • Stove, cooktop and range hood.
  • Inside, outside, behind and underneath compatible accessible appliances, including the fridge, oven, dishwasher and microwave.
  • Interior windows, sills and safely accessible exterior glass.
  • Light switches, outlets and the garbage-disposal area.
02

Bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas

  • Toilets, showers, tubs, tile, grout, shower doors and tracks.
  • Sinks, faucets, drains, mirrors and glass surfaces.
  • Inside and outside of empty vanities, cabinets, drawers and closets.
  • Doors, frames, handles, switches, outlets, baseboards and cobwebs.
  • Interior windows, sills and tracks.
  • Spot cleaning of ordinary marks and fingerprints on compatible walls.
03

Floors and final presentation

  • Vacuum carpeted areas and complete edge and corner detailing.
  • Vacuum and mop compatible hard floors.
  • Sanitize accessible handles and high-touch points.
  • Place ordinary garbage in bins supplied at the property.
  • Prepare the cleaned space for the final walkthrough.
04

What to prepare before the cleaners arrive

  • Remove belongings, packed boxes and unwanted items from the cleaning areas.
  • Empty any cabinet, drawer, closet or appliance interior you want cleaned.
  • Keep electricity, hot water and working lights available until cleaning is complete.
  • Defrost and safely prepare refrigerators or freezers when required.
  • Arrange keys, lockboxes, parking, elevators, concierge and loading access.
  • Remove construction debris, hazardous materials and biohazards through an appropriate provider.
  • Share landlord, tenant or inspection priorities before the walkthrough.
05

Plan for condition—not only square footage

An empty two-bedroom apartment with routine soil is a different job from a similar apartment with heavy appliance grease, mineral buildup and full cabinet interiors. Photographs, an accurate condition description and clear priorities help Zenith recommend a more realistic labour range.

Move-in and move-out cleans aren’t included in Zenith’s satisfaction guarantee because their scopes and inspection expectations are different. Feedback is still always welcome, and customers are encouraged to get in touch promptly so the team can listen and respond clearly.

Putting the checklist to work in a Vancouver home

Schedule the cleaning after belongings are removed and before key handover, leaving time to review the agreed work. For a condo, confirm how the team will enter, where equipment can be unloaded and whether the building needs an elevator reservation.

For a move-in clean, aim to have the work completed before furniture arrives. Share the current condition and requested appliance or cabinet interiors so the estimate reflects the actual home.

Common questions

Clear answers before you book.

Does the home need to be completely empty?

An empty home is strongly preferred. At minimum, every cabinet, drawer, closet, appliance and floor area requested for cleaning must be emptied and accessible.

Will Zenith remove items left by a tenant?

Zenith can place approved ordinary household waste into bins available at the property, but does not provide construction-debris removal, hazardous cleanup or large-volume hauling.

Is carpet extraction included in a move-out clean?

Routine carpet vacuuming is included in the moving-clean scope. Hot-water extraction is a separately priced carpet-cleaning service that should be arranged in advance.
